January 15, 2018

1. Weekly Words: hockey, players, fans, puck, stick, ice, game, skates, line, slide

2. Practice spelling our No Excuses Words - see under Classwork or on your Google Classroom account or the paper copies sent home last week and last year.

3. Science Experiment
Science experiment presentations are due this week. See the Homework Assignment sent home December 11th or see the Google Classroom. Sign in and passwords are on the front page of the agenda for your child's account.

4. Remember to record your home reading in the Reading Log and to use the free apps (Raz Kids, Prodigy, Splash Math, Hearbuilders) for extra homework.

2. Wear red, green or white top and black or blue pants for the Christmas Concert on Wednesday.

3. Bring in some recycled materials to make a raft or little boat for the Gingerbread Man.

4. Science- see the homework assignment due in January. Start planning. Bristol Board is available at the school if needed.

5. Let me know if you are coming to the Gingerbread House making next Thursday and give me a call to arrange a Parent-Teacher Interview if you haven't already done so.

4. Reading: Please read every day at home for about 15-20 minutes. Students may borrow from our classroom library. Practising consistently every day is the only way to become a good and fluent reader. Students are encouraged to enter their reading selections into their Reading Log. Students who read the most books might win a trophy at the end of the year! Some students will be given a daily "I CAN READ" booklet to practise decoding skills every night.

4. If you have any books in your Reading Log, send it in for me to sign and count every now and then. Also, if you are working on any of the extra booklets I provided for extra Homework, please send in every now and then for me to check. Thanks

4. If time, please complete the Math worksheets given out to practise your skills. Test at end of week or early next week (depending on Picture Day activities).

5. Don't forget to keep on practising the Vowel Mouse mnemonic to help you remember the short vowel sounds.

Bring in your completed mission for Friday to share with your friends!
