Catholic Education is a holistic education designed to form and inform students, mind, body, heart and soul. It is committed to excellence as it invites students to respond in the context in which they live their faith. Catholic Education is dedicated to ensuring that the students reach their full potential so that there is success for all. St. Alexander School delivers Catholic education embedded in gospel values firstly through our Religion and Family Life programs and through the integration of the themes of Catholic social teaching.
St. Alexander School is a Catholic faith-based learning environment in which all members of the community (staff, students, parents, parish) are encouraged to live out the Gospel values of love, peace, justice, faith, hope, life, community and dignity and value of all persons. Our strength is our people: staff who are committed to modeling, promoting and integrating the faith of Jesus into the day to day curriculum and social fabric of the school; families who strive together to create "community" and parish personnel who share their faith with the children, staff and parents.
We try to live our faith through classroom and school-based liturgical celebrations which occur year-round. Programs such as Rainbows show compassion and hope for those children who have grief issues. We try to act out our sense of social justice in the wider community through activities for charitable organizations such as Terry Fox, Food Bank, Operation Christmas Child, Jump Rope for Heart, MS Read-a-Thon, NADY, Diabetes, Patrick4 Life, Holy Childhood Association, etc.
Liturgical Celebrations
As a Catholic School, our work to promote the spiritual development of our pupils is a crucial role. Students are expected to participate in religious activities including prayers, celebrations and masses. Parents are always welcome to join us at our masses and liturgical celebrations.
